August 3, 2010 “Good Guys” also take home community service excellence award for Summer of Good Reads and Good Deeds DALLAS – Two 2010 Industry Excellence Awards were awarded Sunday night to SuperMedia (NASDAQ:SPMD) by the Yellow Pages Association TM (YPA) at its annual conference and exhibition in Las Vegas. SuperMedia received the awards for innovation, execution and results of its SuperGuarantee® program and the “Summer of Good Reads and Good Deeds” community program. SuperGuarantee is a national consumer guarantee program designed to lower the risk of hiring contractors, plumbers, auto body repair shops and thousands of other service-based businesses. If a consumer is not satisfied with the service provided by a participating SuperGuarantee business, SuperMedia will work to resolve any issues or, if unable to resolve the issue, SuperMedia will reimburse the consumer up to $500 of the cost of labor for the service.* “This program epitomizes our dedication to progressiveness and our passion to achieve excellence in everything we do,” said SuperMedia CEO Scott Klein. “For the first time in years, we are seeing increases in the possession and usage of our directories. We receive more and more positive feedback from consumers and clients who are seeing the benefits of the SuperGuarantee as it provides consumers with a boost in confidence and clients with an instant competitive advantage.” Building on the success of the SuperGuarantee program, SuperMedia recently extended the benefits for consumers and clients with a new automobile initiative, enhanced mobile applications and a way for clients to further promote themselves with the SuperGuarantee. SuperGuarantee AutosSM program provides a free powertrain limited warranty for consumers who find and purchase qualified vehicles through EveryCarListed.com® or Superpages.com.** The SuperGuarantee is now part of SuperpagesMobileSM available on the iPhone® or iPod® Touch, Blackberry® and Google Android platforms. The new ShieldPowerSM program gives clients more ways to advertise themselves as Good Guys. With the ShieldPower program, SuperGuarantee clients can use the SuperGuarantee Shield on the front door of their businesses, on their Web sites, on their business cards, their TV ads and more. Summer of Good Reads and Good Deeds The nationwide, grassroots program was a three-month effort to distribute books to children in low-income neighborhoods from “Bess the Book Bus” and build awareness and excitement about the new SuperGuarantee program. In a whirlwind tour, Bess the Book Bus trekked 12,368 miles through 52 cities in 35 states in 86 days. In total, SuperMedia “Good Guy” employees logged more than 350 volunteer hours and put more than 36,000 books in the hands of 11,000 children most at risk to be without books of their own. “On behalf of the entire SuperMedia team, we thank the YPA for these awards. A super thank you is also owed to all of our SuperMedia employees who work hard every day to bring our mission to life – becoming America’s local advertising agency for small and medium businesses,” said Scott Klein. The 2010 YPA Conference is the premier industry gathering that hosts attendees from all over the world to honor the dramatic changes sweeping the industry, from newly deployed technology to the implementation of social media. *Restrictions apply.
